In our experience, publicity is crucial to reuniting lost pets with their owners. The key to success is informing as many people as possible in as wide an area as possible
Indeed, when a pet goes missing, one of the first things that most owners do is run off some 'lost' posters to put on lampposts around their neighbourhood. Sometimes this can be enough to bring that all important phone call, and it is not long before the family pet is back home safely, where they belong.
There are times though, when no news seems to be forthcoming, and this can be particularly challenging. Most owners tell us that even if it is bad news, they’d rather know what has happened to their pet, rather than be left wondering.
Fortunately, there is a way that we can help in this situation, by providing an Animal Search UK publicity campaign.
We usually find that our posters and leaflets generate more calls than posters that owners have created themselves. Click on the posters here to see larger versions
One of the reasons for this is that they feature our branding and free 0800 telephone number - this allows people to contact us in confidence, and report news which they may feel uncomfortable in reporting direct to an owner - for example with details of a theft, or road accident.
Our confidential missing pet helpline team, take calls 24/7, and will pass on all information to you as soon as possible.
If your pet is insured, your policy may include help with advertising and reward costs – we have arrangements with most of the leading pet insurers, and may be able to offer a poster and leaflet campaign, at no cost to you.
We can usually deliver posters and leaflets to you by 1.00pm the next day (Monday - Saturday)
