Tom Watkins - Founder Animal Search UK

Tom Watkins - aged 35. Former Police Officer and dog owner for 20 years gained plenty of useful experience involving investigations whilst serving with West Midlands Police. In 1996 he decided on a career change and amongst other occupations he later worked as a volunteer at Cats protection in Hereford.

When Tom decided to alter his career and set up his own business, he chose to follow a path that would be combining his love of pets and desire to help people so he formed Animal Search UK. The organisation has grown to be very successful and has a reputation for offering unrivalled expert advice and exceptional customer service. Tom is very proud to now lead his team of the UK’s foremost experts in the field of pet reunification.

Tom is married to Jenni, they have 2 wonderful children and their current family pet is a fantastic dog called Paris.

Jenni Maynard-Watkins

Jenni (Tom's wife) has always worked with animals since she was a teenager and after leaving school she carried on her ambition to work with horses in particular. She was an Instructor for The Riding for the Disabled Association. She has also been the proud owner of her own horse and enjoys everything to do with the horse world.

She met Tom in 2002 and they married in 2008. Jenni has played an important role in supporting Tom while he put all his effort towards ensuring Animal Search UK remains the leading organisation it has now become. Not to mention working very hard to be a fantastic mother to their two children who Tom hopes will one day be part of the Animal Search UK team.

Sharon Webb

Sharon became part of our team after we helped reunite her with Rufus- pictured here with Sharon. She has been a fan ever since and now spends every spare minute as an administrator for our website. Sharon's efforts help to ensure that pets who have their details added by owners at all times of day and night are checked and uploaded onto our growing database. Sharon is hoping to become a fully fledges member of our search and rescue team when time allows. Sharon and Rufus have also become relatively famous after appearing on several national TV shows and news programmes in several countries explaining how we reunited them back in 2007. Our thanks go out to Sharon for her dedication and enthusiasim towards everything we do. Keep up the good work.

Cherrie Preece

Cherrie Preece fought off strong competition to gain a place as a member of our staff. She joined Animal Search UK in January 2009. Cherrie is a devoted pet lover and has a wide range of pets: 22 Rabbits, 5 guinea pigs, 2 birds, 3 fish, 2 chinchillas, a cat and and 2 dogs called Ruby and Toby. She is passionate about them all, in some cases with her rabbits she has hand reared them after their mums rejected them after they were born.

Since joining the team Cherrie has gained a great deal of experience in a very short time. She has carried out searches as far a field as Scotland and is now very knowledgeable when offering search advice on the telephone/by email to owners. She really enjoys helping reunite pets with their owners and can even be found working from home in her spare time to publicise Animal Search UK with vets and rescue centres across the UK - when not tending to her own pets.

Jaimes Wall

You can't get better than finding the pet you're looking for on your first search in less than 2 hours!! That's the claim that Jaimes can truthfully tell everyone about. He found and rescued Casper who had been missing 12 days before being discovered during a search stuck on a flat roof in his home neighbourhood.

Jaimes joined the team in June 2009 and has had success on his first three searches- read more about these stories in the Happy Tails section. Jaimes is another really enthusiatic member of the team who has the additional knowledge of computer systems gained while working as an IT technician. This has already proved helpful when dealing with minor issues with our IT systems that suppport the whole operation in the Animal Search UK Headquarters. Although a part time member of the team at present- we hope Jaimes will become a full time pet detective soon!

Richard Jones

Richard and his wife are dedicated 'pet people' and have in the past been pet foster carers for the RSPCA. After meeting Tom in 2003 they have been friends ever since. Richard is now a volunteer for Animal Search UK and helps in a variety of ways. He has helped in the headquarters with the logistics of the whole operation and has also volunteered out 'in the field' as a search co-ordinator and has conducted searches all over the UK.

Richard also has other skills that have benefited the organisation a great deal including computer and graphic design talent which has been incorporated into this new website.
He also filmed, edited and produced the UK's first Missing Pet advice videos that can be viewed on the Animal search UK website and the "you tube" website.

Rachel Hartigan

Rachel is the proud owner of Rembrandt a mischievous little tearaway cat who went missing from home himself. After contacting Animal Search UK for advice the escapee was found safe and well not too far from home.

Ever since then Rachel has been a supporter of the work we do at Animal Search UK and has recently started helping with searches throughout the UK whenever she can. We admire her enthusiasm and conscientious approach to every case she has helped with so far.

Adrian Goodyear

Adrian joined the team in January 2010 as our latest UK wide Missing Pet Search Co-ordinator. His many year of experience owning his own variety of pets means he understands the importance we place on helping owners to become reunited with their loved ones. With a good knowledge of the UK and a little help from SATNAV he has already traveled over 500 miles around the UK, to carry out searches in sub zero temperatures, the wind and rain. He continues to keep the trend of being sucessful on the first few searches with hard work and a little luck, along with an extra pair of eyes in the form of an owner. Adrian has played a part in reuniting pets from two of the first three searches he has carried out.

The UK's pets and Animal Search UK need you!!!

If you have some spare time on your hands, love meeting people and pets then read on. We are always looking for new volunteers and in some cases part time/ad hoc paid search co-ordinators like some of the team above. For more details
contact us , send your curriculum vitae and your photo by email FAO Tom and Jenni. We will try to respond to all applicants. We look forward to hearing from you. Remember you can still become a volunteer from the comfort of your own home by becoming an "email volunteer".
